Making An Impact

No matter what you say or do, you want it to make a difference.  There is no satisfaction in your words or actions, where there is no impact.  The words you say are spoken to convey some thought that you have.  And your actions are taken, so that others will realize that you are making a statement.

“To look is one thing.  To see what you look at is another.  To understand what you see is a third.  To learn what you understand is still something else.  But to act on what you learn is all that really matters” (Bits & Pieces).  That makes a lot of sense.  The bottom line is to put your thoughts and words into action.  My parents must have told me a hundred times, “Your actions speak louder, than your words.”  No matter what you say, what really is important is what you do.  You can say anything, but until you put action into what you say, it amounts to nothing.

The Word of God also talks about putting action behind your words.  “Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share” (1 Timothy 6:18).  That verse emphasizes the need for action.  The fact that you are “to do good,” means you have to be doing something.  You cannot “do good” only by talking about it.  The verse tells you to do more than some good.  It says, “be rich in good works.”  In other words, your life should be one in which others can see many good works in your life.  Finally, the verse closes by telling you “to be generous and ready to share.”  This is telling you in a nut shell to consider doing good to others, before considering what you need for yourself.

So, how do you make an impact?  By being generous in doing good deeds for others.  Start doing that today!
