A Little Patience, Please

You want to make an impact in this world for the cause of Christ.  You do not see yourself as a verbal soul winner.  Perhaps you find it difficult to share your faith.  So, you wonder how you are going to lead others to Christ.

One way to be a strong witness for Jesus is to show, by your behavior, that you are a Christian.  As unbelievers see those good works of yours, it is a testimony to your relationship with the Master of your soul.

“One moment of patience may ward off a great disaster; one moment of impatience may ruin a whole life” (Bits & Pieces).  Having patience is very noticeable to everyone around you.  That is because it is such a rare trait in the world today.

Patience is easy when all is going well around you.  It is difficult when you face difficult times from others for no reason at all.  You do what is right, then the payment you get is pain and heartache.  Scripture addresses this in 1 Peter 2:20, “For what credit is there if when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience?  But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it this finds favor with God.”  That verse stings, because you have had times in your life when you have not responded to trials in that way.  Do not dwell on your shortcomings.  Just realize that the way God wants you to respond is to endure trials with patience, especially when you suffer for doing what is right.  Let it be encouraging to you to know that suffering when you have done nothing wrong “finds favor with God.”

When you suffer tremendously for doing what is right, know that God honors that very behavior.  Yes, when life is difficult, it is time to have a little patience please!
