That Silver Lining

You have found yourself with your back to the wall, and there seems no place to turn.  It may be some task at work or school that just does not seem to have a solution.  It could be a relationship where too much strife has occurred, and there seems no reconciliation.  It may be a marital conflict that seems impossible to rectify.

There are so many situations in your life, where it just seems useless to change that area of your life.  In other words, hope seems to be gone.  Hope can make the difference between a hospital patient getting better, or ending their life.  You know this, but in trying to muster up hope in your life, there just does not seem to be any.  A tourist once asked a native Texan, “Have you lived here all your life?”  And the Texan replied, “Nope, not yet.”  Ha!  Ha!  Hope is needed to have a brighter day both for today and for tomorrow.

The Holy Bible talks about love.  In the love chapter, 1 Corinthians 13, it gives you a glimpse into how to apply love to your life situations.  In the middle of the chapter are the words, “hopes all things.”  As you live your life to glorify God, an essential ingredient to doing so effectively, is that you have hope.  Notice, that your hope is to have hope in “all things.”  This is all inclusive.  It has no bounds, “All” means all.  There is no situation so small or so large in which you are not to have hope.

Problems happen all around you.  That is one of the things you can count on in being human; you will have problems.  Within that dark cloud of problems, there is a silver lining.  That silver living is hope.  As long as you have hope in the Lord, that He will make things better, then life is better.  Grab hold of that silver lining of hope right now!
