The Road to Victory

You live your life from one day to the next, but life seems to be just one day after another with no real meaning.  You do your best to live for the Lord, but the joy of the Christian life has long since departed.  In short, there is an emptiness inside you, one that you desperately want filled.

The problem is that you are not living in the will of God.  As you live your life doing what Jesus has called you to do, joy and meaning become ever present in your life.  You have meaning to living, because you know that you are doing exactly what the Lord wants you to do.  You may say that you are not willing to submit your life to God, because He may ask you to do something that you actually do not want to do.  Let me give you some sound advice from a great pastor of yesteryear, F. B. Meyer, “If you are not willing to be used by God, ask God to make you willing to be willing.”  That is some sound teaching.  If you ask the Lord to make you willing, He will do exactly that.

In teaching about being an obedient servant of the Lord Jesus, the Holy Bible has this to say, “not by way of eye service, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart” (Eph. 6:6).  To be an obedient Christian, you are not to live your life so that you will please the people around you.  You are to live your life serving Jesus as Lord.  When you serve Him as Lord, that means that you no longer do what you want to do, but you live your life according to the Word of God.  As you live your life “doing the will of God from the heart” you will find that life has meaning and is joyful.

The road to victory in your life is to live your life according to the will of God.  This happens as you obediently follow the Scriptures.  There really is no better way to live.  That is the road to victory!
