Keep on Trucking

You often find yourself in a place where you just need to put your head down and continue doing what you are doing.  Otherwise, you will get distracted and get off course from your goal(s).  This best advice you can give yourself is to just keep on trucking.  Yes, you know that you are doing the right thing, so you just need to continue doing what you are doing.

This advice is given so well by Charles F. Kettering: “Keep on going and the chances are you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it.  I have never heard of anyone stumbling on something sitting down.”  Look at the first three words—“Keep on going.”  Yes, the key is to keep on doing what you know is working in your life.  Stay at the task.  Deep down you know you are doing what needs to be done, but at the same time, you feel there is something bigger for you to do—“you will stumble on something.”  All this requires you to be in action and not “sitting down.”

Jesus, while talking to His disciples, gave them the secret to living their lives continually for the glory of God.  The Holy Bible is extremely practical, not only telling you the what you need to do, but giving insights for living your life above the mediocrity of the daily grind.  The secret is given in John 8:31, “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of mine.’”  For you to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ requires that you, “continue in My word.”  Continue in the Word of God for nourishment that you need on a daily basis.  That nourishment is not a snack but is a meal of reading and studying the Bible.

To get where you want to go, requires that you have a road map; that road map is the Scriptures.  As Kettering says, “you will stumble on something” that will make all the difference in the world to your situation.  That happens as you saturate yourself in the Holy Bible!
