Talking To The Father

When you were growing up, one of the things you really treasured was the time spent doing things with your father and talking to him.  There is no replacement for that one-on-one communication with him.  Those precious times were not fully appreciated until many years later as you became an adult.

What is due of the earthly realm is also true of the heavenly realm.  Your Heavenly Father is there 24/7 to listen to you and also to act upon your each and every request.  Often it is beneficial to stop and reflect on the many, many times He has answered your prayers and been the One to give you peace and comfort when you could find it nowhere else.

One sage has put prayer into its proper perspective: “To be miserable—look within.  To be distracted—look around.  To be happy—look up.”  Now, that makes a lot of sense.  As you look up with your eyes and with your heart, there is nothing on earth that compares with praying to the Lord above.

Even the early disciples were strong believers in prayer.  After Jesus was resurrected, He appeared to many on earth for 40 days.  Afterward, He talked to His disciples and was lifted into the heavens as the disciples look on.  What did the disciples do?  The disciples were joined by some of Jesus’ closest friends and family.  Observe what they did, “These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers” (Acts 1:14).  Notice, prayer was ever present on their mind.  They “were continually devoting themselves to prayer.”

Take time during your day to stop and have a little talk with Jesus.  The answer to your need is only a prayer away!
