Doing The Impossible

There are times in your life when, either you have thought or someone has told you, “You can’t do that.  That is impossible.”  The task at hand just seems too impossible. Looking at all the circumstances surrounding it, with human eyes, there seems like there is just no way that will happen.  The result is you give up and move on to do something less risky.

Stop.  Think for a second about Jesus’ disciples and the Great Commission.  Jesus commanded His disciples, and us as Christians, to take the gospel message to the whole world.  Looking at that mandate from a worldly perspective one would say, “Impossible.  The world is too large and the Christians are too few for the whole would to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.”  Your problem is that you are looking at what is possible human speaking.  You are not seeing what only the omnipotent God can do.  You are looking at life and goals through the eyes of an unbeliever and not through the eyes of a child of God.  In other words, you are not living through faith.

The main thing you need to consider when dealing with difficult times is to see where your perspective is.  Chuck Swindoll deals with this when he said, “We are faced with great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.”  It is a matter of perspective.  Looking at the situation through earthly eyes, it is impossible.  Looking through the eyes of faith as a Christian, it is a “great opportunity.”

Jesus when talking to His disciples about things that seems impossible, in a worldly fashion, had this to say, “And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  Yep, Jesus is telling you that God specializes in the impossible.  If what you are dealing with in your life seems impossible, be encouraged.  Christ may just be telling you that is what He wants you to do.

You see when it is impossible for you to do it, then you have to depend on God.  Thus, He gets all the glory.  Go do great things for God’s glory.  Doing the impossible may just be what God is calling you to do!
