How To Get Rewards

Have you ever wondered just how you could tell if a person is a Christian or not or if they are living the Christian life to glorify Christ?  There are actually several ways you can tell, but I will focus on just one to be brief.  One way is to be a student at looking at other people’s  behavior.  Check to see if what they say and do is in alignment with Scripture.  If it is, then they are obeying the Bible.  If not, then you know you should not pay any attention to anything they say or do.

Of course, a person may be one way in public and another way away behind closed doors.  That really doesn’t matter because soon or later others will observe their true behavior.  D. L. Moody was once asked, “What is character?”  Moody replied, “Character is what a man is in the dark.”  If you want to know what kind of person you really are, then look at your thoughts and actions that you do when no one is around; look deeply at your private life when all alone.

Those Christians who live their lives totally for God’s glory regardless of how good or bad life gets, then those believers Scripture says will get eternal rewards in heaven.  1 Corinthians 15:58 says it this way, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”  That is a promise where God says that the hard work you do on earth for the Lord results in heavenly treasure.  More often than not the work you do for the Lord seems to be hard, laborious spiritual work.  But stop and notice that this promise says that you may “know” that every single activity you do will result in some kind of reward.  Remember though, that the reward may not come to you on earth but you will be rewarded.

To get rewards let your thoughts and behavior align itself with Scripture.  If they don’t confess to the Lord your sin and start doing what you know to do.  As you do this, then that is when the rewards begin to flow.  Do so right now!
