Should I Speak Boldly For Christ?

Pastor’s Pen

We like to talk about those we love—i.e., our wife, our husband, and our children. It just seems right to us to speak out, and if necessary, defend those we love. This requires us at times to even be bold in our defense of them.

The disciples were bold to speak out for the Lord and the salvation He offers to the world. Others throughout the ages have used boldness to stand up for the Lord as well. In Westminster Abbey a monument to Lord Lawrence has inscribed on it his name, his date of death, and these words: “He feared man so little because he feared God so much.” Just maybe that is why we are so timid when it comes to speaking out about our Christian witness; we do not fear God very much.

The Bible is not silent when it comes to us being bold in our world and speaking to others about Christ. In talking about Jesus Christ, the Scriptures tell us: “in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him” (Ephesians 3:12, NKJV). Thus, the Holy Bible tells us to have boldness to speak about the Bible and Jesus to others, because we have faith in Christ. We have faith that the Lord Jesus will use what we say for our good and for His glory.

Let’s put our faith into action and make it a point to assert ourselves and speak out daily for Christ with boldness! It may even make a difference in what other people remember about us!!
