Let’s take a look at what a lot of people say makes the world go around. It is one of the necessities of life. Without it you just can’t survive on planet earth. It is something every human being needs and wants, and some people try to get as much of it as they can while wandering on this journey while we are alive and kicking. Stop and think about it for a second or two; it is money.
I dislike mentioning it, because some churchgoers get turned off every time it is brought up in church. One reason I must bring the topic of money up is because it is a good barometer of our spiritual lives. Show me the way a person spends his or her money, and I will tell you what is important to that person. The international evangelist, Billy Graham, puts it this way: “If a person gets his attitude about money straightened out, then almost all other areas of his life will be straightened out.” Look at your own life and see if this principle is not true.
The funny thing is when we get our money right with God and give, even sacrificially, to Him, then He promises to open the gates of heaven and pour His blessings on us. “’Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts. If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (Mal. 3:10). Notice, the Lord God says “try me now in this” and I will richly reward you!
We all need money to survive on this earth, and the Lord needs money for His ministry to continue. Let’s try the Lord on this issue of giving monetarily to His work!! You may have a surprise from heaven just around the corner!!
