Sing Out Loud And Clear

Pastor’s Pen

Don’t you just love it when everything seems to go your way? There are times in our lives that just seem like the heaven gates are opened and God’s abundant blessings are flowing down on us. At times like these, our response varies. Sometimes we feel the presence of the Lord more fully than other times. Then at times we want to just celebrate by getting together with friends. A song seems to come from our inner being that brings us tremendous joy when we sing to our Lord.

The Christian life is one full of joy. L. P. Jacks says it this way, “Christianity is the most encouraging, the most joyous, the least repressive of all the religions of mankind. While it has its sorrows and stern disciples, the end of it is a resurrection, not a burial—a festival, not a funeral.” Since our journey, as well as our end, is full of joy, doesn’t it just make sense that we will have a song in our hearts?

The Holy Scriptures is full of verses expressing our joy to the Lord in song. One such verse is Psalm 13:6, “I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.” Now that is reason to rejoice and sing to the Lord. The Lord has greatly blessed me, so I will sing praises to His name.

At LBC we love to sing. I believe one of the main reasons we love to sing, is that we all realize that God has blessed us and filled us with his joy; this joy is best expressed by us with singing praises to His name.

Tonight is a service totally dedicated to singing praises to our Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s just come and expect the Lord to speak to us through the song service. You may even leave feeling like you are on cloud nine!!! See you tonight!!!
