It does not matter if you are an atheist or not; this blog can be helpful to you. If you are not an atheist, then you can glean some thoughts in sharing Christ with an atheist. If you are an atheist, the following may give you some thoughts worth considering in regards to the existence of God. As an atheist, I know you do not take information at its face value. You mull it over in your mind and come to a conclusion based on those thoughts. So, consider the following.
Know that there is a God, and He loves you very much. He created you just the way you are. God wants to have a relationship with you. An atheist, blaspheming in a marketplace, challenged God to show His power by striking him dead within five minutes. The five minutes elapsed, and following the tense delay, the man said to his audience, “What did I tell you?” An old woman standing by said, “Sir, have you any children?” “Why?” “Well,” said the woman, “if one of your children handed you a knife and said, ‘Kill me Daddy,” would you do it?” “Why no,” said the astonished man, “I love them too much.” “That is exactly why God did not strike you dead,” said the woman. “He loves you too much.” And God loves you very much. Regardless if you are an atheist or not.
Jesus is preaching to those around Him. This is at the beginning of His ministry. As Jesus was preaching “and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel’” (Mark 1:15; NASV). His message is to you today, too. To “repent” means to stop living your life on your own terms and start living your life in accordance with Christ’s teachings. Next, “believe in the gospel” means to believe that Christ died on a cross for your sins. Do so right now! That is the answer for atheists.
