Resurrection, So What?

Before that Sunday when Christ was resurrected from the dead, there came that dreaded Friday. On Friday, before Christ arose from the dead, came the cross.  The most horrible death humanity has ever devised.  It was an agonizing death.  Jesus was tortured before He was placed on that cross.  Agonizing hours of pain and agony were felt by the Son of God before He died.  On this Good Friday Christ died.  Why is it called Good Friday?  Because something wonderful is about to happen on Sunday.  Jesus is raised from the dead.

A very learned man once asked a little girl who believed in the Lord Jesus, “My poor little girl, you don’t know whom you believe in.  There have been many christs.  In which of them do you believe?”  “I know which One I believe in,” replied the child.  “I believe in the Christ who rose from the dead.”  That little girl knew more about Jesus Christ than many learned scholars know.  Knowing the right Christ to believe in is essential to entrance into heaven.  In fact, it is the difference between getting into heaven and being refused entrance.

Putting faith into the Jesus, who rose from the grave makes all the difference in the world.  To gain another reason for believing in the resurrection, turn your attention to some words that Peter, Jesus’ disciple: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3; NASV).  The resurrection gives you a hope to hang on to during difficult times while on earth.

Accepting Christ’s resurrection is vital to get into heaven and to have hope on earth.  Accept Him today!
