As you live your life here on planet earth, one thing is for certain and that is trials will come and go. At times one trial on the heels of another trial makes life anything but enjoyable. The more you focus on the trials of life, the more discouraged you get. Life at this point is anything but enjoyable.
Jesus wants you to turn those trials over to Him. He understands fully the impact of your trials in your life. The Lord awaits to give you the strength you need. You do not deserve the comfort He gives, but that is why He gives it. That comfort is a result of His grace.
Donald Grey Barnhouse was a pastor greatly used of God in the last century. He pastored a huge church and was a prolific writer. In talking about grace, he said this, “Love that reaches up is adoration. Love that reaches across is affection. Love that reaches down is grace.” God’s abundant love is expressed to us in many ways. One of those ways is to give us His wonderful grace.
Paul was a persecutor of the church and even assisted in the murder of Christians. After this, the Lord saved him. Paul went from city to city proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. During his time of proclaiming the Gospel, the Lord inflicted him with unbearable pain. Paul asked the Lord three times to remove the affliction. Christ’s answer is recorded in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’” Notice, that God’s power is fully shown through trials.
To endure trials, Jesus says for you to depend totally on Him by allowing His grace to be enough for you. The trials you have may just be allowed by God so that His power can be shown in your life as you depend totally on his grace. Let the Lord’s grace be sufficient during your trials.
