Often, you have prayed and prayed about some request and have a sense of God’s leading. There comes a time to stop praying and then go about doing what you feel led what God is telling you. Definitely, pour your heart out to God with your request, but realize there comes a time when you have to take action.
Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you had better be running!
Think, pray, get wise counsel, and look at all the positive and negative characteristics of a matter. Granted, this may take some time. The fact remains, though, that at some point in time, the evaluating must come to an end and you must act. You may feel paralyzed in fear in making the wrong decision. Just go ahead and make a decision and God will lead if you made a wrong decision.
Jesus talked to His disciples about the urgency of taking action. He wanted them to take action immediately. He did not want them to delay, but to act soon, very soon. He tells His disciples this in 2 Corinthians 6:3, “Behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation.” Jesus is urging action to be taken, and that action was to be done immediately.
Let me emphasize that you need to pray, think, ponder, and wait on God to give you the answer to your prayer request. Do not prolong that process forever. At some time, you have to take the bull by the horns, and act on the knowledge you have received from the Lord. In short, you need to get going!
