You have so many decisions to make on a daily basis. Should you read a certain book that seems interesting, but its content may cause your mind to think on things which will negatively impact your walk with Christ? Does that relationship with a specific person bring you closer to Christ and should you spend time with them? The decisions you make repeatedly on a daily basis may affect you becoming more like Christ. In fact, you might even live your life from moment to moment every day without even considering its effect on your relationship with Christ; is change in order?
You have aspirations to accomplish certain things in your life. You may call them goals or dreams. Do you realize that much of your daily activity revolves around them? One sage from the past put it this way: “My life is not made by the dreams I dream but by the choices I make.” Yes, your pilgrimage on earth is determined by your choices.
Proverbs 16:3 states that fact this way, “Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.” The first part of this verse states your problem; seldom, if ever, do you think about your daily decisions in regard to eternity. You should do everything in your life with a mental consideration of heaven in view. When that is done, then the Lord God will step into your life and His “plans,” dreams, or goals (whatever you want to call them) will be accomplished.
So, to know what you should do or not do, you must do everything with God in mind. God, then, does His part by imparting His decisions in your life. That takes the guess work out of knowing whether you should do this or that. Go ahead and become more heavenly minded. Start right now!
