You move from one day of your life to another, often with no sense of personal fulfillment. Life seems like a real drag. There is no sense of direction guiding you along. At the end of every day, you feel as though you are not thriving, but only striving.
The Lord God never intended you to live that way. Life, while on earth, should be enjoyable and totally fulfilling. The difference between your unfulfilled life, and someone else who lives a fulfilled life, is not that big. The solution to this dilemma is stated by an unknown author, “The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.” Most of the time what keeps you from enjoying a fulfilled life is that grey matter between your two ears. When you focus on having a positive attitude, daily events are more enjoyable.
God knows that life on planet earth can get downright routine and boring. He understands the need you have to be fulfilled in the daily grind, so He commands you in Psalm 118:24 to renew your focus, “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” What sound advice! Wake up every morning and recite that verse to yourself. It will charge your batteries with enthusiasm and give you a positive perspective for your day.
Stop and think about God’s command to show you the way to a fulfilled life. The words He says are not just recorded in Scripture to take up space. God created you down to the remotest details of your life. So, if anyone knows you, it is God. He knows you better than you know yourself.
Memorize Psalm 118:24 and meditate on it throughout your day. You will notice that life is actually fulfilling. You now “make the best of everything.” May your tribe increase!
