The First Thing Is First

You can tell a big difference between someone who does something for the very first time, and the seasoned person who has performed that task many times.  What is the reason for this?  To be honest, there are numerous things responsible for the difference; one of them is that the seasoned person is better prepared.

No matter what you do, make sure you are prepared to do your very best.  Preparation is much needed in all areas of life.  A great musician practices daily; he/she may be world renowned, but truth be told, they are that way because of their daily preparation.  The same is true of any person in the arts, sciences, or any other area of endeavor.  Preparation is a necessity.

When you think about Abraham Lincoln, you think of someone who was a great leader and president of the United

States.  He said, “I will study and get ready, then maybe my chance will come.”  Now that is some good sound advice.  Put the preparation time in before the opportunity arises.  That way you will be well prepared when that opportunity occurs.

The Holy Scriptures states the same thing in 1 Peter 1:13, “Therefore, prepare your minds for action…”.  In everything you do, you should be getting prepared for what the future holds for you.  This Bible verse is in reference to daily Christian living, but is applicable to all areas of your life.

When you are prepared, you will be ready to tackle that desired task.  Most everything worth having in life requires some amount of preparation.

So, the first thing  you need to do, is to get prepared for where your heart leads you.  Start now!
