If you are married, then you are wise if you realize that your wife is your better half. She is the one who makes you the man you are. That Godly wife supports you and loves you more than any other person on earth. She has your best interests at heart. Time and time again she will put what pleases you before what pleases her. Her impact on you being the man you are is immeasurable.
A city mayor and his wife met a man whom she used to date. The man was a construction engineer. The mayor said, “Just think. If you married him, you’d be the wife of a construction engineer.” She replied, “No. You got it wrong. If I had married him, he would be the mayor.” Ha! Ha! You chuckle at the response, but seriously she stated a fact. The man you are today and the accomplishments in life that you have attained are in fact due to large degree because of your wife.
You may be hesitant to admit that the man you are today is in part because of your wife. The Scriptures back up that fact. Proverbs 31 is known as the Godly Wife chapter of the Bible. To start with in verse 10 you realize that, “An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.” Jewels are precious stones worth much to the one who possesses them. Thus, this verse says that a Godly wife is worth “far above” them. The next verse goes on to say that the man of God is to a large degree dependent upon his Godly wife: “The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.” When the Word of God says that the husband will “have no lack of gain” because of his wife, it is saying that to a large degree the husband is what he is because of his wife’s influence.
So, thank the Lord Jesus for the Godly wife He has given you. Next, don’t take her for granted; love her and tell her of her great worth to you. Do that today!
