You have heard it said many times and in many ways, “’Tis the season to be jolly.” Being jolly is a lot more than just sitting around and laughing it up. Being jolly is totally enjoying life with those you love. In fact, the Christmas Season is a time when life stands still and love is shown all around. You may spend part of this season volunteering your time at a charity meal or doing a little something extra for someone you love. Love is definitely in the air.
A little girl accepted Jesus as her Savior and soon began learning what that relationship was all about. She learned that Jesus watches over her to see everything she does. Her unbelieving mother said, “Doesn’t that bother you that He sees everything you do?” “Oh, no. He loves me so much He can’t keep His eyes off me.” Wow! That little girl understands a great biblical principle. Jesus loves His children so very, very much.
I know you may be thinking that if Jesus loves me so much, then why are there all these hard times in your life? The world is full of heartbreaks and disappointments. The Word of God addresses that in Romans 8:31-31. Here it states that severe hard times are definitely going to come. During this Christmas Season, difficulties may even be more intense as life’s struggles increase. After talking about the intense hardships, Scripture says, “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.” Yes, you will overcome those hard times. The reason you are victorious is because of Jesus’ abundant love for you.
Knowing you have Jesus’ love in your life allows you to freely give. Love was given to you, so that now you can freely give love to others. One of the most amazing things that happens during this season is that you get a chance to show Jesus’ love to others. It is the season to be jolly, but more importantly it is the season to show others Christ’s love. Let’s go spread a little love around!
