Have you ever wondered, is life is worth all the effort you put into it? Sometimes you work yourself to death, all for the Lord’s work, and it seems like it is all done for naught. At times you seem to be able to relate well to the mouse running on the tread mill; he runs and runs but gets nowhere. To make matters worse, it is not just the physical, but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges that go along with it that add to the difficulty.
Niccolo Paganini began to play his violin and one string popped. The people giggled a bit, and then began to play again and the second string broke. The same thing happened and the third string broke. Then all was silent as Paganini raised his hand to speak. He spoke and said, “Just one string and Paganini.” And on that one string he played some of the most difficult music ever to be heard. Yes, just you and God!! Anybody can carry on in their Christian life and ministry when things are going smooth, but let the storms of life gale in your life and the true grit you are made of will be revealed.
Living the Christian life strong is what separates true disciples of Christ from those just professing Christianity. The Scriptures teach that those whose who stand fast till they see those pearly gates are those that receive the best and most rewards. When they talk about those who stay true to the Lord to the end, it says, “Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, ‘Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.” In other words, what you reap to the end of your earthly life, you will sow in heaven one day.
Keep persevering for the Lord!
