Christ told His disciples that Satan has control of this earth, for the time being. Satan can rule this earth and do what he wants. Satan ravages the people on earth, both Christian and unbeliever. He does this, although, because Christ allows him this dominance. Christ allows Satan to rule, but Satan knows that his time is limited.
Today is Christmas Day. Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the Savior of the world. Everyone, and anyone, who places their faith in Christ moves their life from Satan’s dominion to Christ’s dominion. In Christ, we are a new creature. Satan absolutely hates, with extreme hatred, Christ and His children.
In Satan’s eyes, he will do anything to keep us from having a relationship with Christ and serving Him. According to a legend, Satan and his demons were having a Christmas party. As the demonic guests were departing, one grinned and said to Satan, “Merry Christmas, your majesty.” At that, Satan replied with a growl, “Yes, keep it merry. If they ever get serious about it, we’re all in trouble.” With that being said, let’s get serious about it. It is the birth of the Baby. It is the coming of God. It is the intervention of God’s presence among men.
Why is it that Satan despises Christ, so much? Why does Satan have such hatred toward Christ? The answer is found in 1 John 3:8, “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (NKJV). Thus, Christ was born to destroy Satan and his sinful ways.
Christ’s birth conquers Satan. Celebrate today Christ’s birth. Today, a Savior, Christ the King, was born for you!
