Heaven’s Speciality

You want to go to heaven, where Christ has some riches in store for you.  Before looking at those special heavenly treats, let’s look to see if you meet the entrance requirements.  Heaven is a real place.  Heaven is the utopia that you seek to enter one day.  To know you will be accepted at heaven’s gate, you must accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.  As Savior, Christ died on the cross for your sins.  And as Lord, you live your life according to the Scriptures.  Entrance into heaven requires you do both!  Failure to do both disqualifies you from entrance into heaven’s gates.

Well, you say you have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, so what is the most glorious thing about heaven?  Is it the pearly gates?  Is it the street of gold?  Or what about no sickness or death?  Or is it the absence of crying?  All these, and more, are not the most spectacular thing about heaven.  Paul Rees says it well, when he stated: “We talk about the street of gold and the gates of pearl, and we are thrilled, but those things would not be attractive if Jesus were not there.  His presence is what will make heaven such a grand place.”  Spending eternity in the presence of Christ in His glorified body, and you and me having a glorified body, is what makes heaven a place to behold.

Jesus shared with His disciples, that He was going to die and would leave them.  Their response, as you may guess, was one of unbelief.  Jesus tells them, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if we not so I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2, NKJV).  Yes, if Christ prepares your place in heaven, then you know it will be fantastic.

Of all the wonderful things you will have in heaven, Christ’s presence is what makes it special.   Make sure you have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior.  Be heaven bound!
