Those Little Sins

Oh, come on now!  Really?  Is there any big deal in those small sins?  What can a little hurt, anyway?  It is such a little thing!  Will those little sins matter, at all?

I hear you.  You are practicing some small, maybe even, petty sins.  And in the grand scheme of things, those little sins don’t seem like anything worth bothering over.  The fact is, that any sin you commit is a big sin.  It seems small to you, when you compare them to some other sin, that you consider a big sin.

Another thing to remember, when considering your sin(s) as little, it that even if they are little, they will not stay that way, long.  An unknown author, confirms that, when he said: “the trouble with little sins is that they don’t stay little.”  A small sin, in your eyes, gradually grows larger and larger, almost without notice.  The sin pit you fall into has a gradual slow, decline.  But beware!  That slope is ever so sure, and ever so deadly.  Before you know it, you are in over your head.

Jesus visited a Pharisee’s house, and a sinful woman washed His feet with her tears, dried them with her hair, and kissed His feet.  The Pharisee did not even have a servant to wash Christ’s feet upon entrance, which was the custom of that time.  Christ recognized the woman’s love for Him.  “Then He said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven’” (Luke 7:48, NKJV).  Christ saw her love for Him, and forgave her of her sins.

In Christ’s eyes you need forgiveness, even for those little sins.  In fact, there is no such thing as a little sin.  All sin is dreadful and will separate you from Christ.  Some sins have more judgment attached to them than others.  But all sin separates you from Christ.  Turn to Christ completely!
