The Beginning, Middle, and End

You begin many things during the course of each day of your life.  You may start a new task at work or school, try a new food, or start a new habit.  Every day is a new day that holds new beginnings.

Sandwiched between the beginning of something new and finishing it, are those things that take second place in your life.  They are the events you do after starting something from the beginning.

After beginning and then doing something in the middle, you put the finishing touches by drawing it to an end.  The end is what you do at the conclusion.

All of the above, can be applied to your prayer life.  Prayer is an important part of your daily life.  It should not be something you do after all else fails.  You press forward and strive and do your best to make things happen, then after all that fails, you pray.  Wise words were uttered, which say, “Without time for prayer, nothing can be accomplished” (W. Graham Scroggie).  Put another way, to accomplish anything in your life, you must absolutely pray about it.

Jesus was a man of prayer.  He often went away from the disciples and spent hours in prayer.  In fact, on several occasions, He spent the whole night in prayer.  Knowing the importance of prayer, He told His disciples to pray.  Christ tells His disciples how to get their prayers answered: “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13, NKJV).  Jesus came to earth to glorify the Father.  One-way Jesus tells His disciples, and you and me, that we can glorify both the Father and the Son is by our prayers.

Know that Christ answers your prayers.  So, let prayer be your beginning, your middle, and your end.  Do so today!
