You try your best to accomplish certain things in your life, but try as hard as you may, that achievement just does not happen. Thinking in spiritual terms, that philosophy occurs way more than you would like for it to occur. Whether it is a consistent devotional life, prayer life, attending church regularly, being a faithful witness for Christ, or any other discipline, making them a part of your daily routine is difficult.
To accomplish what you want in life starts with making a goal. It has been said that without a goal, you can never hit the target. So, step one is to make a goal. Next, is step two. Obstacles are those frightening things you see when you take your eyes off the goal. The discipline of staying focused on your goal is essential to accomplishing what you want to do.
Paul knew all too well the importance of focusing on goals. He started more churches than anyone in the history of the church. He started them, but also made sure of their welfare and growth in Christ by visiting them. In regards to goals and staying on track with them, he gives you an insight into how this is to be done, when he said: “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13, 14; NKJV). To stay focused on obtaining your goal(s), you must first forget past failures. Those are in the past, and let them stay there. Next, get a laser focus on your goals.
Yes, focus on your goals, and stay focused! Start today!
