Let’s Get Excited

There is one thing that I truly do not understand.  That is the Christian who goes around all day looking like they have been sucking on a lemon.  They look grumpy.  They sound grumpy.  They are grumpy.

That kind of person does nothing to attract an unbeliever into the kingdom of God.  An outside observer looks at them and sadly says to themselves that if that person is a Christian, then I want nothing to do with Christianity.

Having a winsome, fun outlook on life gets the attention of the unbeliever.  Everyone, believer and unbeliever, wants to enjoy life down here on planet earth.  The unbeliever seeks fulfillment through sex, getting drunk, getting high on drugs, and in fact anything that makes them feel good.  The attitude is if it feels good then do it, is their primary goal.  Unlike them, the Christian, gets his/her fulfillment and peace here on earth by allowing Christ to guide their life.

  1. W. Arnold gives some great advice to guide you in getting the best out of each day of your life: “The worst bankrupt is the person who has lost his enthusiasm.”In other words, Christian, go out there and get excited.  Unbelievers will be attracted to your jovial attitude.

God thought so much about joy for the believer that He wrote an entire New Testament book on you being joyful.  If that were not enough, the last chapter of the book emphasizes rejoicing more than the other chapters.  It is like an exclamation point.  It says: “Rejoice in the Lord always.  Again, I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4, NKJV).

So, let’s go into your daily walk and get a little excited.  Let’s “rejoice in the Lord!”  Go spread some joy around!
