What comes into your mind as you think of being faithful? It could bring thoughts of sticking it out with your job in the good times and the not so good times. Or, maybe you think of that marital vow and being faithful to your spouse. Many things come to mind as you ponder the thoughts of being faithful.
Of utmost importance, is the fact of being faithful in your walk with Christ. He died for your sins, and it is He who gives you new life. Thinking about your being faithful to Christ, the words of Thomas Aquinas ring loud and true: “Bestow on me, O Lord my God, understanding to know you, diligence to seek You, and a faithfulness that will finally embrace You, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” It is very important that you be faithful to obey Christ in all of life’s daily situations. Being faithful to Christ, carries with it an obedience to live by the Scriptures.
No doubt about it, living a life faithful to Christ is your daily goal. You are able to do this partly because you know that the Lord God is faithful to carry out His will in your life. The Scriptures tell you in Lamentations 3:23 (NKJV) – “They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” It is the compassion that God has for you that is “new every morning.” Know that every morning you wake up, you start that day with God’s compassions filling your soul. The verse goes on to say, that as you are surrounded by God’s compassions every day.
You are to be faithful to the Lord each moment of each day. You can do this by reminding yourself that you are faithful to God, because He is faithful to you. It is time you renew your faithfulness to God and allow God to be faithful to you!
