This Sunday is Easter. It is a time to rejoice in knowing Jesus arose from the dead, and you too, will arise from the dead one day. The fact that you worship a risen Savior sets you apart from all the other religions in the world.
Unbelievers say that there are many ways to get to heaven. They say that many of the religions of the world all say the same thing. Yet, Christianity is unique. Its uniqueness is seen in the story of a little girl. A very learned man once said to a little child, “My poor little girl, you do not know whom you believe in. There have been many christs. In which of them do you believe?” “I know which One I believe in,” replied the child. “I believe in the Christ who rose from the dead.” Amen! What an astute answer. Yes, the Jesus that you believe in is the One that rose from the grave. No other person, who claimed to be God, was raised from the dead; only Jesus did that.
The good thing about the resurrection of Jesus, is that Jesus arose from the dead to go to heaven, and since he arose, you, as a Christian, will arise also. This is clearly seen in Ephesians 2:6, “and raised up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Jesus is in heaven, so you will be in heaven with Him. This happens, because you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Jesus is risen! This is a fact of history, both in Scripture and from historical writers of that time. Knowing that Jesus is risen, and you will be risen one day, gives you hope to carry on and live this life to its fullest.
Jesus is risen! That fact needs to be repeated time and time again. Jesus rising from the grave is the center of everything that you, as a Christian, believe. Christ is risen!
