Gathering Courage

When you were a child, you had a lot of courage.  It was courage based on no fear.  No matter what it was, you had the courage to do it.  You seemed to be unstoppable.

As an adult, when you talk to people about their belief in God, you find some people have no faith in God.  Their lack of faith in God is something most of them do not hold privately.  They want to condemn Christianity.  These atheists courageously fight against Christians.  An atheists complained to a friend, because Christians have their special holidays, such as Christmas and Easter, and Jews celebrate their special holidays, such as Passover and Yom Kipper.  “But we atheists,” he said, “have no recognized national holiday.  It is unfair discrimination!”  To which his friend replied, “Why don’t you celebrate April first?’  (Maryland Church News).  Ha!  Ha!  You have to hand it to the atheists, though, because they do have the courage to speak their minds.

Christians are not air heads.  They do not put their faith and belief is something not credible.  The Holy Bible holds validity from history and archeology.  They prove the Bible is infallible.  A verse in Psalm that gives strength to live by is: “…In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid.  What can mere man do to me?”  The Christian is to put his trust in in the Lord God.  Putting your faith in the Lord God, allows you to walk in His strength.  Time and time again, in Scripture, it says that you are not to be afraid.  This is done by putting your full trust and faith in God.  This verse ends with words to be lived in the workplace and everywhere we go – “What can mere man do to me/”

To gather courage put your full trust in the Lord’s protection.  Fear no man!  Fear only God!
