When you look at a beautiful painting, you are awe -struck by so many things. The choice of colors. The amount of detail. The beauty. All these things come together in a masterful piece of art.
Any form of art requires an eye for detail. Putting forth that added effort changes an ordinary piece of art into a masterpiece. An elderly gentleman worked as a carpenter with diligence and great precision. He explained why he spent so much time on each project. “I learned long ago that speed should always be secondary to quality workmanship. Years from now when I’m gone and people inspect what I am building today, no one will ask, ‘How long did this project take him?’ Instead, they’ll ask, ‘Who made this?’” The best things in life take time. They take unrushed time.
God is actively at work in your life. He causes every event to happen in your life. He may directly cause it or allow it to happen to you. In all of life occurrences, the Lord God either directly or indirectly is involved in them.
God tells you that His involvement is to bring your life into conformance to His will for your life. “For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure” (Philippians 213). God is working in your life. By your surroundings and life events, it may not seem possible. God’s ways are not like your ways. That verse lets you know, that in all that is going on in your life, God is right in the middle of all of it. And He is causing everything to occur “for His good pleasure.” For what pleases the God of heaven.
Just know that God is working in your life. He is tenderly causing your life to count for something greater than you are capable of doing. He is creating His piece
of art in you!
