As you survey your life, it may seem that there was seldom an abundance. During your times at home, you had what was needed but not an over amount of anything. There were never too many toys. There was never too much spending money. There was never an excess in anything associated with your upbringing.
What is true of your material goods, is easily carried over to the spiritual realm. You look at your gifts that seem overshadowed by so many others. Other people’s gifts seem so much more significant to the body of Christ than your gifts. It is hard not to compare yourself to others, but Satan seems to make you feel so unneeded in the body of Christ.
What is needed is a fresh perspective in the way you see yourself in God’s kingdom. Samuel Zwermer had a fresh outlook for you to follow, when he said, “I have always lived from hand to mouth but it has been the Lord’s hand and my mouth.” Ha! Ha! Humorous but yet, so very true. Everything you have is a result of God’s blessing in your life. All that you have has come from the hand of God. He bestows blessings upon blessings on you. Whatever your need may be, the Lord is near to fill that need. He fills it over and above what you can imagine.
As Scripture closes in the book of Philippians, the Lord writes these words concerning your needs: “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (4:19). Did you see how the Lord will supply your needs? “According to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” “His riches” are the riches of heaven.
You do have an abundance at your disposal. That abundance comes from heaven above “according to His riches.” All that is just a prayer away. Ask for it now!
