When you were a child you played follow the leader. No matter what the leader did, or where he went, you would follow him. The leader was in charge. If you did not do exactly what the leader did, then you were out of the game. And of course, you wanted to a part of the game so bad that you did exactly what the leader did.
Those of you who were in the military know full well the meaning of following leaders. Those above you in rank in the military were to be followed without asking any questions whatsoever. A wounded soldier of Napoleon was given no anesthetic and when those operating on him were probing for the bullet, he remarked, “Be careful, for a little deeper you will strike my heart, and the emperor is there.” There is no question where that soldier’s allegiance was found.
As a Christian, your allegiance is to be in the Lord Jesus Christ. You obey Him no matter what. Wherever He leads you will follow. “For the love of Christ controls us” (2 Corinthians 5:14). The Lord Jesus controls every aspect of your life. Since Jesus is omniscient, He knows everything. And with Him also being omnipotent, He is all powerful. The combination of both of these lets you know that the Lord is the perfect Person to let control your life.
Let Jesus Christ be the leader of your life. Whatever He tells you to do, then obey Him; don’t ask questions, just do it. There will be times in your life, when you will not understand why He is telling you to do a certain thing. Rest assured that His way is always best. Yes, follow the leader with Jesus as your leader. Know that this is not a child’s game to play, but is God’s plan for your life. Follow Him right now!
