One of the first things you learn as a new Christian is just how abundantly God blesses your life. You pray; God answers. It amazes you just how many blessings Jesus brings your way. You feel His joy and peace.
If you are not careful, all the blessings the Lord has given you will be forgotten. All the times that God answered your prayers will fall by the wayside. If this continues, you will take Jesus’ blessings for granted. If this is you, return to the tender relationship you once had with Jesus.
God gives you riches untold. As you walk faithfully with the Lord Jesus, He blesses first this way and then that way. The Lord’s blessings just keep coming. It is like the energizer bunny that just keeps going on and on and on. For example, a farmer was known for giving extensively to the Lord’s work. He explained it this way, “I keep shoveling into God’s bin, and God keeps shoveling back into mine, and He has the bigger shovel.” Ha! Ha! It is humorous but so true. You cannot out-give God!
As you grow in your relationship with God, you realize that everything good in your life is a result of God blessing you. God absolutely loves giving good gifts to His children. “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow” (James 1:17). God abundantly gives to you!
You receive blessings from God. They are not based on you doing more good things than bad things. They are not based on the denomination you belong to. They are totally dependent upon you being in the family of God. Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the blessings begin. Your job is just to receive them!
