The people in your life that do not show kindness make an impression in your life. As you think about your past, the ones who did not show kindness are deeply marked in your memory banks.
What is true of people that did not show you kindness, is also true of those who did show kindness. You remember their kind words, or their gentle touch, or their deep concern for your welfare. When you show kindness, you may very well be causing a crease in their brain, never to be forgotten. Billy Graham made a huge impact upon millions and millions of lives. It was his observation, in regards to kindness, to give it freely and frequently. He said it this way, “Often the only thing a child can remember about an adult in later years, when he or she is grown, is whether or not that person was kind to him or her.” Stop! Think about that for a moment. You will find Billy’s word are spot on.
The Holy Bible is truth from the very beginning until the last word in Revelation. That Book is written to give you guidelines for living on earth and how to get to heaven. In regards to daily living it says, “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted” (Ephesians 4:32). The Lord knows the impact of a kind person on others. In fact, when you accepted Christ for salvation, the Holy Spirit resided in you. With the Holy Spirit’s residence, He gave you some spiritual gifts to help you in your spiritual life. One of those spiritual gifts is the gift of “kindness.” It is evident that God expects His children to be children of kindness.
In a world that is dog eat dog, and to get ahead to the top at any cost, it is time to spread a little kindness around. Kindness will move mountains and melt hard hearts. Yes, let’s spread a little kindness, please!
