A Fear Of Dying

Perhaps, you try not to think about you dying.  You have so much that you want to do before life on earth is ended.  Your love for your children and grandchildren motivates you to experience so many things with them.  You enjoy life and want to live on as long as you can.

One realization you must face is that death is a certainty.  Everyone has an appointed time to cease existence on planet earth.  You must know that everything you have here must be left behind when you depart this life.  Alexander the Great left orders that when he was carried to the grave, his hands should not be wrapped in the specially treated clothes used by the embalmers of that day, but rather to be exposed to view so that all might see that they were empty!  Wow!  You are reminded that when you depart from this earth, you leave everything you had on earth behind you.

God has something far, far better in store for you when you leave this life.  “He will swallow up death for all time, and the Lord will wipe tears away from all faces, and He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken” (Isaiah 25:8).  After dying, there will never, ever be any more death again.  The sorrows, also, that you knew, during your earthly pilgrimage, will be eradicated forever.  In fact, all negative life experiences will be forever left behind.

If a fear of dying nags your thinking, just know that death will never happen again and that your new future will be the utopia you desire.  Do not have a fear of dying.  Dying is just a transition of your life from a fleshly body to a heavenly body.

As you leave everything that earth offers, you will live eternally in beauty and love.  That is something you do not need to fear.
