Happy New Year

Well, 2020 is behind you.  Today, starts a brand-new year.  It is full of possibilities and new adventures.  You do not know what this year will bring, but you can look forward to a better 2021 than you had in 2020.

An unknown author has this to say about this New Year—”Dear Master for this coming year just one request I bring: I do not pray for happiness, or any earthly thing—I do not ask to understand the way Thou leadest me, but this I ask: teach me to do the thing that pleaseth Thee.  I want to know Thy guiding voice, to walk with Thee each day.  Dear Master, make me swift to hear and ready to obey.  And thus, the year I now begin, a happy year will be—if I am seeking just to do the thing that pleasest Thee.”  Those words, put into action in your daily life, will make each day of 2021 a better day.

In thinking about what can make 2021 a better year for you, you should remember the words of Philippians 1:6, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good word in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Yes, rest assured that Jesus is working in your life.  His plan is to continue working in your life each and every day, until your earthly life is over.  Not only is Jesus doing something in your life, He is in the process of making your life “perfect.”  That means that Jesus is molding you and making you into His image daily.

So, Happy New Year to you!  My desire is that as you look past the days in 2021 that you will be able to see a Godly change in your life from day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month.  As you become more like Jesus Christ this year, that is something you can reminisce on at the end of the year and say that 2021, indeed, has been a very Happy New Year!
