Strength In Troubled Times

Your life is full of troubled times.  Right now, the events of your life may be making you feel like you are on cloud nine.  Enjoy it while you can, because dark clouds are just ahead.  For others, the present represents those thunder clouds roaring with lightening and doom.  Dark days fill your life too many times; many more times than you would like.

“I believe in the sun even when it’s not shining, I believe in love even when I am alone.  I believe in God even when He is silent” (Anonymous).  During troubled waters in your life, you need something to hold on to so that you do not drown.  One key is looking beyond the present day(s) of gloom.  Being able to see the sun behind dark clouds keeps your spirit high.  Looking at love as something special to be cherished when you are all alone, yields a cherished moment that troubled times cannot take away.  Also, the best solution to gaining strength in troubled times is to “believe in God even when He is silent.”  Knowing that the Lord God is in complete control of each and every circumstance that happens in your life gives you supernatural stamina.

The Psalms echo time and time again with the strength you gain by putting complete faith in God.  “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Ps. 46:1).  God is your “refuge” in that He protects you, even when you cannot see Him doing so.  The Lord gives you “strength” in your hour of need.  This “strength” is supernatural strength that moves you from the realm of the earthly to heavenly assistance.  God comes to your aid every time you need strength—He is “a very present help in trouble.”  Notice, the kind of strength He gives is a “present help”; the Lord gives you help right now when you need it.

Your strength in troubled waters is ready right now and God abundantly gives it.  God may seem silent to you, but be certain of this—He is in control!
