To live life to its fullest requires that you have hope. In fact, to exist at all requires that you have hope. The mere existence of life requires that you have hope. It is with the loss of hope that earthly life ends. Where there is no hope there is no life.
Someone summarized those thoughts when he said: “Life with Christ is an endless hope; without Him, a hopeless end.” Yes, when you have a relationship with Christ there is always hope. Christ is in control of your life and is orchestrating it all for His glory and your good. Then life without Christ is one that has a hopeless end. It is hopeless because its inevitable eternal end is in pain and agony spent in hell.
Having hope in Christ is clearly explained in Scripture.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3; NASV). Notice, that you are called again to a “living hope.” The verse is specific in telling you exactly whom this “living hope” applies to. The “living hope” is to one and all who are “born again.” Again, this verse explains that also. It is given to those who believe in “the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Accepting Christ’s death for your sins on the cross gives you that “living hope” you so desperately want and need.
Now that you have a “living hope” is the time to put it into good use. Tell others how they can be “born again.” Emphasize that being “born again” is not based on anything they can do. As the verse says, it is all about Christ’s “great mercy.”
Therefore, go out and have a life living in hope!
