Think Right, Live Right

You want to walk close to Christ.  You have a desire to live a life that is well-pleasing to Him.  That innate desire for Godly living is something that pervades your thinking.  The desire to please Christ occurs as you put Him first in your daily living.

Campbell Morgan has some words that will help you in the pursuit of right living: “A man’s concept of God creates his attitude toward the hour in which he lives.”To live a life honoring God, begins with having a correct understanding of God, Himself.  Without having that correct knowledge of God, you cannot live a Godly life.

Having a correct concept of God is critical to living a life that honors God.  That correct concept of God begins with not doing anything.  It begins not with action but with doing something even more important.  Isaiah, the prophet, spells that out clearly: “Incline your ear and come to Me, listen that you may live” (58:3; NASV).  To know God more fully begins with having God as your focus throughout the day.  You give Him your attention.  That leads to listening to what God tells you to do.

Yes, to live right means you must think right.  That right thinking happens with having a correct view of God.  That right view of God makes all the difference in the world to how you live for God daily.  You do that by inclining your thoughts to have Godly thoughts.  Next, ask God to tell you what you need to hear.  And finally, listen to what God tells you to do.  God wants you to walk with Him every moment of every day, so listen to what He says.

To accomplish this begins with you making a conscious effort to listen to God.  Then ask God to make you sensitive to hear Him.  The results are living right!
