Enduring Trials

It is not something new to you, to know that trials are going to come your way.  Soon after becoming a Christian, fiery trials singe that heavenly decision you made.  It would be nice if after that trial the trials would leave never again to appear.  Your testimony is proof that is not true.

The fact that trials are a part of your walk with Christ is evident from the Bible too.  Moses had to endure the ungodly behavior of the Israelites.  Job had to endure trials that tested his faith.  In the New Testament Paul had such a severe trial in his life that he asked Christ to take it away.  The result was that Christ told him just to keep following Christ.  And if anyone in the Bible should not have to endure trials in their life you would think that Christ would be immune.  Not so.  The religious leaders constantly challenged His divinity.  The disciples were not much better as they seemed to fail one faith lesson after another.  Jesus had His share of trials.

Knowing that every human being on earth has trials does not help you endure them.  You know that trials will come in your life.  What are you to do then?  That great preacher, Charles Spurgeon, said it well when he said, “As sure as ever as God puts His children in the furnace He will be in the furnace with them.”  God does not promise to give you a life without trials, God does say that when you go through those trials He will be right here with you.

The. Word of God supports that belief.  “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5; NASV).  In every area of life Christ is right there by your side.  Know as you endure trials that Christ is right there with you.  Stay close to Christ!
