It was the words in the Bible, that made a significant change in your life. Remember that day when you became a Christian. Never let that day get too far away from your memory bank. It is easy, as you mature in Christ, to forget that glorious day you entered the kingdom of God. If you are not careful, you will forget how significant of a day that was. Forget it long enough, and living for Christ will soon become an afterthought.
The Bible is a book that is meant to be treasured. It is something that is to have first place in your daily activities. Read it daily. Read it to change the way you live. Know it in your mind. Stow it in your heart. Show it in your life. Sow it in the world. As you carry out the Bible in those ways, you become the Christian God wants you to be.
The Bible directs you to make its study a priority in your life: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom” (Colossians 3:16; NKJV). “The word of Christ” is the Bible. It is God breathed. Every word and every letter in the Bible comes directly from the Lord. That is why it “dwells in you richly.” The world tells you to seek after material wealth. It says that the more material wealth you have, then the more successful you are. The Scriptures tell you to have the Bible as your source of priority in your life. The end of that verse explains why the Bible is important. It gives you “all wisdom.”
