To be a changed person requires some work on your part. You may look at self-help books. They can offer some guidelines to help you change. Another pursuit is to use positive thinking. As you change from negative thoughts to positive thoughts, change occurs in your life.
Those things can help you become a better person, here on earth, but do little for a spiritual change in your life. After all, changing your spiritual life carries with it eternal rewards, vice earthly benefits. Someone once said, “It is far better to practice the things that are revealed than to speculate or argue over the truths that have been concealed.” Yes, your time is best spent on putting the truths of the Bible into practice in your life, instead of mulling over in your mind biblical matters that the Scriptures do not fully explain.
Christ, right before He was going to be delivered over to be crucified, takes time to talk to His Father. In this prayer, He took time to pray for you and for me. Christ said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17, NKJV). Christ says to “sanctify them.” You are sanctified, when you become more and more life Christ in the words you say, the thoughts you have, and your daily actions. This is all done by you spending time in the Word of God. That is what Christ meant by saying “Your word is truth.”
Do you want to be a changed person? Do you want to become more like Christ in your life? Then pursue Christ-likeness each and every day of your life. This is accomplished by studying the Scriptures. Study, not only for information, but also for transformation. Applying the Bible to daily living, results in you being changed. Do so today!
