How To Be Successful

No matter where you are in life, you want to be successful.  If you are in school, you want to make the highest grade possible for you.  If you are in the workforce, you want to get that next highest pay raise or job promotion.  Then in your family, you want to have a home full of love and encouragement with a little laughter thrown in now and them.

Everything in life that yells being successful, does not just happen.  It would be nice if success just instantly occurred.  Or, maybe, just put a little effort into it, and get a bumper crop for a return.  An unknown author said it well when he said, “in the dictionary is the only place where success comes before work.”  Read that again, but a little slower.  You know that to be true, but you have a hard time putting that into practice.  You want success, and you want it now.

One of the many things I like about the Holy Bible is that it does not hold back any punches.  It tells you head on what it wants you to know.  Since the Scriptures are a road map to success here on earth, you do well to listen to what it says.  In talking about success, most importantly spiritual success, it says: “and let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9, NKJV).  In other words, stay at that task until it is done.

To be successful, there is no shortcut to making that happen.  It is not as simple as a 1-2-3 technique.  Among all you must do to succeed, one thing is sure.  You must find out what you need to do, then to press on without fail.  You must put your shoulder to the goal, and keep it there, until you succeed.  Go after that goal and persevere!
