There are lots of things in your life that are never forgotten. The love and support given to you by your parents, a spouse, a friend, or someone else is never forgotten. What they did or said, may be just a very small thing. The fact remains; what they said or did made a huge impact on your life.
When you do some act of kindness or say something kind, be assured that the person it is done to will appreciate and remember it. An anonymous writer once said, “Kindness is one thing that you cannot give away; it always comes back!” The rewards to living a life of kindness, reaps huge dividends. Although you are not kind to receive the reward, none-the-less, kindness reaps rewards. With you being kind, kindness returns to you.
Scripture tells of the rewards of kindness in 1 Samuel 15:6, “Then Saul said to the Kenites ‘Go, depart, get down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt.’ So, the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites” (NKJV). The kind deeds done to Israel were remembered.
Know that the kind words/deeds you do will be remembered. They will not be forgotten. Those actions/words may never be known to you. Be assured, they will be remembered by the recipient. Do not show kindness, so others will tell you what a great impact you had in their life. Be kind, for the mere fact that the Bible tells you to be kind.
To live a life that has a rich legacy, do so by being a kind person. The saying, “what goes around, comes around,” could not be truer, as it relates to kindness. Just be kind!
