Every day you are hit broadside with one decision after another. You know the answer to some situations that you face, but others you are unsure what to do. Fortunately, not every day has a huge decision for you to make.
Making the right decision carries with it your ability to determine what is the right thing to do. “A husband and wife were arguing about an investment that the husband wanted to make. In the midst of it, he pointed out that men had better judgment than women. ‘Well, I guess you are right,’ replied the wife. ‘You married me, and I married you’” (Bits & Pieces). Ouch! The husband must have taken a step or two back. Ha! Ha! That quote makes a good point. Some people make better decisions than other people.
To find out how you can make a better decision, let’s get some divine help from the Scriptures. Moses was reared in luxury to the maximum. Pharaoh’s daughter took him into the palace and treated him as royalty. He was educated in all the best schools Egypt could offer, he ate the food at the king’s table, was clothed in fine garments, in fact, from a worldly standpoint, he had everything this world can offer. It is interesting to see how Moses felt about all that: “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin” (Hebrews 11:24-25, NKJV). He wanted to be a God pleaser, instead of a world pleaser.
To make right decisions is very easy. All you have to do is to be a student of God’s Word, so He can tell you what you need to do with your life on earth, then to put those beliefs into daily practice. Christ sent the Holy Spirit to help you in that process.
