From the moment you walk inside of a church, one theme flows over and over; it is faith. The pastor preaches on you trusting God daily in your life. By faith. The message, of accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, is emphasized. By Faith. In fact, everything you do as a Christian is summarized in one word. By faith.
You know full well the importance of living by faith. You, also, know that it is one thing to believe in living your life by faith, and another thing in doing it. Whenever living by faith is addressed, the life of George Mueller should come to your mind. When God put it into the heart of George Mueller to build orphanages in Bristol, England, he had only two shillings in his pocket. Without making his wants known to anyone but God, over seven million dollars was sent to him for the building and maintaining of the homes. Now, that is faith! You look at George Mueller and think, that he had some special blessing from God. And you are right. George Mueller was specially blessed by God for one, and only one, reason. He totally trusted God to do what God had placed in his heart to do.
That same blessing, that George Mueller experienced, you can experience. God is not looking for the most gifted person. Or the most beautiful person. Or the most intellectual person. God is looking for someone, anyone, who will live according to what He tells them to do. That is living by faith.
One short verse in 2 Corinthians, commands you to live your life in such a way that you please the Lord: “for we walk by faith, not by sight” (5:7). Living by faith is not hard. It simply means, living your life moment-by-moment by obeying God.
