Really Living

You may say that you are getting the very best out of life when you are hunting, fishing, cooking, shopping, or spending time with family or friends, or some other activity.  Those are all activities that are full of fun and enjoyment.

When you are asked to relate that theme of really living to your Christian life, some thought is required.  Once you think for a while, you would rate one characteristic as being faithful in your walk with Jesus.  Knowing that you are doing exactly what the Lord Jesus wants you to do is one of the most fulfilling heights that your life can obtain.

As you daily walk with Jesus, you live the Christian life according to the Scriptures.  You find that the more closely your daily activities are in obedience to the Bible, the better you feel.  Occasionally, you encounter someone who wants to argue about the Bible.  Often, they are bothered by something that the Bible doesn’t address.  An unknown author speaks to that person: “It is far better to practice the things that are revealed, than to speculate or argue over the truths that have been concealed.”  The most important daily action in your life is to put the Scriptures into practice.

In the Book of books, it records a dialogue between Jesus and Satan.  Satan is at his best in trying to get Jesus to worship him.  Jesus is weak physically, being without food for 40 days, so spiritually He is weak too.  In response to Satan, Jesus says, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).  Yes, man lives by bread, but not “by bread alone.”  Man finds his greatest treasure in the Bible.

Everyone wants to live it up.  Everyone wants every moment on earth to be amazing.  This is done by living by the Scriptures.  What a way to live!
