It is easy to just lay back and let life pass you by. You spend time at work, and have a few home projects, which can take up your day. After all, when you get home from work or school, you feel you need a little down time.
Using your time wisely takes planning. If you do not make it a priority, it just will not happen. To accomplish much in life, requires setting goals and reaching toward them. Three words are pertinent on the grave of a guide who died while climbing the Alps: “He died climbing.” He died doing what he loved to do. Take a lesson from him and be involved in activities you enjoy that will cause you to move forward in your life.
One way you need to increase, is to increase in your life and work of the Lord Jesus. Paul accomplished a lot for the Lord, during his earthly pilgrimage. He left a key to how he was able to accomplish so much in the words of Philippians 3:14, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” You should “press on.” You are to press on to do what Christ has you to do. No matter, how hard the Christian road may lead you, you are to stay steady on the course that Christ has for you.
It is time for you to put your life in high gear, and stay at the task(s) that God has for you. One reason, you keep steady on the course, is knowing that your work for the Lord is not in vain. The above verse says that your work that you do for Christ will yield a heavenly “prize.”
Keep climbing higher and higher in your service to Christ. Your work will not be in vain. You will get that heavenly “prize.” Just aim high and “press on” doing the work God has called you to do!
