Right Thinking

So much of what you do in life requires that you have the right perspective.  It is not a matter of what you do that is so important, but the frame of mind in which you do it.  Your mental outlook is vital in accomplishing so many areas of your life.

Lou Holtz shares some wise words, when he said, “Ability is what you are capable of doing.  Motivation determines what you do.  Attitude determines how well you do it.”  As you approach a task to do, it is important to know if you have the ability to accomplish it.  To complete the task, means that you stay at the task from start to finish.  To do your very best at something means that you have the right attitude.

Jesus came to earth to do the will of the Father.  At the end of His life, He said that He had completed all the Father told Him to do.  Let’s look at how He was able to accomplish it all, and, thus, help us to do all He asks of us to do.  “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus…And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:5, 8).  These verses command you to have the same mind that Jesus had on earth.  Your attitude is to be humble before the Lord God; this is even your willingness to die.

Right thinking gives you direction to what you are to do daily for Christ.  That attitude is one in which you are to be obedient to Jesus, no matter the outcome.  This centers around you being humble before God.  You humble yourself to follow Him in every decision of your life, being an obedient servant.  Right thinking results in your right actions.  Start doing so today!
